Why do you play with the clan that you do?

My own wo derful 2old4 BS is currently recruiting. Lux did a great job of crystalizing what 2old4BS is about: laid back, bit un-PC, but we don't like assholes either (we've had more than enough of our share), But in a recruiting drive, it's always a gamble: pick a jerk, and you upset the chemistry of the group. Actually, it doesn't even have to be a jerk: just someone who doesn't fit in. It's a relationship. The clan member must click with the clan, and the clan must click with the member. If it doesn't work on one side, then it's a no go. This in itself is not a bad thing, as long as everyone treats it in an adult manner and just moves along.

But this got me thinking: why do you game with the clan that you do? What is it about them that makes you want to continue gaming with them? 2old4BS (and 2old2Remember) are what I need: open, funny, laid back but still willing to treat the bulletsponge like a valued member. Lots of private matches unless someone needs to rank up: perfection. And the clan leaders tend to get drunk and send out pictures... and videos. of themselves. singing. singing 80s music.

um... on second thought: any clans out there looking for a JayCat? (j/k of course)

I think it more because of the \"not playing\" side that keeps me with 2old2pwn. In addition to the laid back attitude in gaming, we are an exceptionally verbose clan in our forum (can you say 9660 topics and over 143,418 posts?!). We are extremely supportive of one another and care about each other's real life as much or more than the XBL life.\r \r It just feels like family.

What doorgunner said.\r Everyone refers the Old Man Mafia as Da Family, and that's what it feels like. You can talk about anything with those guys, and no one shuns you. Yeah, there's good-natured ribbing, but it's a group of good people that's supportive. Plus, no one has ever made fun of me for sucking online, and believe they've had the opportunity. Although, I have been stabbed in the back a couple of times. I'm looking at you, Scratchski :)

Well said gunner, thats the same family feel we have with 2o4BS and 2o2R. If one of us need help we help. we don't worry about getting it back. we don't judge ( well, we fucking around play judging is for us)\r \r Yes we drink and call each disturbing things like....ooooohh Snoopy (long funny story) BUT! we always ask how their wife or kids, mom, dad are. We even have each other phone numbers (that alone shows trust) if one where to knock on my door tonight and needed a place to sleep...He's welcome and trusted.

what do you do if you have joined a clan and find you dont fit in? or over time you grow away from a game. how do you sever that relationship and not burn the house down in the process?\r \r back on topic lol\r \r for me its the people and how active the clan is. if the clan is active that keeps me interested. i like to be around people who like to be involved in not just the clan but the whole site.

I stay in my clan cuz I'm the boss! Actually, I luv every one of my guys in Pearly's Stud Farm, um, I mean, 2old2play MTGO. I have even met some in person. Great guys!

i'm in mine simply becuz i haven't yet jumped into GOW2 yet ;) but i like the comradarie we have, the vent sessions where at least one or two of us will be pleasantly intoxicated and talking smack and slinging zingers, good times....there's only a core group of us, i feel, that are close and those peeps i trust implicitly (fade to Lux talking about giving out phone numbers and such) so to me that's important as well....

I'm in my clan because of a technicality.\r \r They haven't closed the loophole yet so, so far so good.
