WHY do other parents say shit like this?

Okay: so I called by coworker to let her know I wasn't going to be in and to talk about the file I had to hand over to her. I told her: yup I got strep throat and an ear infection. She said "OMG! that is SO dangerous!  Did Erica get it?"


No; Erica just had a cold: mine developed into Strep and an ear infection: I guess I am cool that way. But how is it dangerous?


"Strep bacteria cause flesh eating disease". was her reply.


Oh please! I mean I know that wierd shit happens all the time, but why freak someone out? If it was a problem the doctor would have said something... Grrrrrr...


Other than that I am taking the day off. I just had my round of meds and I may either play an hour of tales of vesperia or watch TV then nap time. It's odd not having to think or do thinking for gamefocus though.  I did send DSmooth a quick note letting him know I am on the market for an easy writing gig and he said he would get back to me. So who knows? Maybe I will dom ore stuff for the front page.  Is that good ? I am not sure...

join the sick-at-home club! more time for warcraft!\r \r people love to sensationalize things. that's why some rain or snow turns into major flooding and blizzards in the news. and people eat it up.

There are I think something like 30 or 31 different forms of Strep.\r \r Flesh eating disease is Necrotizing faschititis, which I think wins an award for having simple the coolest sounding disease name ever. It comes usually from Streptococcus pyogenes which is the most common bacteria linked to it. It usually comes after some sort of trauma which allows the disease to infiltrate the layers of tissue where it kinda hangs out, gestates and then starts munching down.\r \r So basically, you don't get it from a sore throat, that woman is to sum it up. A moron.\r
