where are my comments?

The spammers ate them.  But seriously the spamming was getting so rediculous on the front page that we figured it was best to just shut down the comments for a while until we work out a better way to slow their roll. I hate to say we let them win, but on the flip side none of there shit is up there anymore.  


We also recently banned all Chinese IPs as they were about 90% of the spam so I'm hoping that slows things a bit.  We are currently implementing a way for members to flag content as spam too.  This should make it easier on the mods to get rid of stuff much faster. As always if you guys see spam please report it in the forums.  Keep up the good fight!

I've noticed some sites use that Captcha validation stuff for submitting comments. So you type in your comment, then type in the captcha validation code and then your comment is posted.

Blog spam to me is becoming a bigger issue. And not so much because the spam, i usually don't click on blogs that are empty avatars. The bigger issue is teh community responding with spam posts themselves just to push the spammers off the blog bar. Those irritate me more than the spam does.\r \r
