What happened to country music?

Jessica Simpson doing country music? Because she's humped a "Cowboy" she thinks she's country? Jewel doing country? Because she's humping a championship bull rider and has a fiddle playing in the background, she's country? Carrie Underwood? Taylor Swift? Come on, Nashville, get your shit together. Then you have songs coming out that actually sound country, talking about small town country living, but are filmed in the big city. The video just doesn't match what the song is about. And then there's Kenney Chesney. He used to be country, and every now and then still puts out a good country song, but he's not much more than a beach bum anymore. Nothing like telling all your fans, "Thanks for all your money, suckers. Enjoy your pathetic lives as I'm drinking beer on the beach in Mexico."

I thank God we still have people like George Strait, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, and Reba around.

If these people want to put out albums, fine, I don't care. Just don't call it country. Next thing you know they'll be telling you Marilyn Manson raps.
