What Do you hate about the site now?

So now that the dust is settling and we are starting to fix bugs, add new functionality, and boost the sites speed, I'd like to get some brutal opinions about what you currently don't like about the site and even more importantly how we can make it better.

Luckily for me, the members of 2old2play have never had a problem with brutal honesty, but they do sometimes lack the ability to verbalize what they specifically take issue with.  So I'm hoping that some of you can articulate just what bugs you about V3 and maybe what you would like to see in the future.

No subject is off limits although if you have specific bug issues I do ask that you post them over at the Request or Report forum so I can keep track of them.  Instead, use this blog to discuss problems with navigation, feeling lost, what you think is missing, what sucks to use, problems with forum structure, etc.   Also if you are confused about something let me know as well since the goal with V3 is to make everything a bit easier to understand.  

Even more specific is how group leaders feel about managing groups now.  You have the power to control your own groups, admins, posts, forums, news, polls, members, and home page so I'm sure there are a lot of questions there.  A big goal for me  personally it to make the group process as painless as possible.  Currently we have a big disconnect from the Group Home page to the Group Forums so I wouldn't mind discuss the flow of that information from one page to the next.  

So please.  Drop some knowledge on me.

Just off the top of my head I would like to be able to view more than 18 topics per page in the forums. If this could be customizable to the user that would be great. Some forums are busy enough that topics with new posts can get buried to the 2nd page and I'd never see them. Also - being able to embed videos other than youtube format would be sweet too. Like Silverlight stuff from the MS website for example.

Similar to Jonny, but in regards to posts in actual threads. It would be nice to be able to view more than 10 posts per thread. Most forums I frequent have the ability to customize this aspect, ranging anywhere from 10 posts per thread, 20, 25, or even 50. Also, what happened to the colored text? I enjoyed posting in purple.

I can turn it back on but to be honest it kind of made the forum into a clown car of colors.

I like the clown car of colours. Used in moderation colour really makes a complex post easier to read.

Our folks are used to looking in only one location for group stuff, the forum. So it might be cool if the group had an easy/accessible way to know if something's been added on the group home page. Maybe the homepage could also be accessible/visible from the forum in a way that let members know they should look at the homepage? Might also be cool if there was a central/comingled group news page where groups could announce open events like game nights or tournaments. The news posts already have a "public" check box, maybe there could be another checkbox that earmarks it for the central location. Might be even cooler if the page was in the same style as the 2o2p homepage or sidebar. I'd like to test out the group admin powers, but I'm afraid my powers don't work.

Getting more used to it :D it was jarring at first but I'm figuring it out a bit. One thing I did notice is that when I preview a post it makes me reselect from a big ass drop down what forum I actually want to post it to. Also I know a chum of mine tried putting spoiler tags on that didn't work (maybe it is different on v3) so being a gaming site Spoiler tags would be great. Thanks for all the hard work - I know it must have been stressful for a bit but things seem to be moving in the right direction :) My appologies if either of my gripes are just learning related on my part lol :) still figuring things out as the dust settles.

How about an edit post button? Also, after posting/browsing a thread, when clicking on "forums" at the top of the thread where it says "Home > Forums > X Thread" It only shows the forums in the section you are viewing, not all the forums

Breadcrumbs for forums do not take you to top level. The forums only take to to the top of the subforums (ie. Movies). My blog does not link properly in the blog banner. Groups News Page has formatting issues. Subforums are tough to see. Is there a better way to show them (ie, SWTOR and forums like those). Get web chat working with the IRC server. Also, formatting is off in comments and posts. I double spaced the entries in this post. They show as single space once I submit it.

Wasted vertical space on each forum page. Decrease by half (or even more) the vertical size of the buttons in the row under the 2old2play banner. HOME, CONTENT, WEB SHOWS, COMMUNITY, GROUPS, BLOGS The dark grey dividers between frames could be halved in size vertically maybe. Bottom of each forum page shows post activity icons laid out vertically. Can those be laid out horizontally plus any required wrapping? Decrease vertical space between tabs for Active New and Unanswered topics and the Black bar at the top of each forum. Shouldn't this bar be by itself because it links to all forums and i keep thinking it applies to the current forum. Re-size New topic buttons to smaller. Half the current vertical size or smaller. Perhaps even add the top one to the black bar at the top of each forum. At bottom of page. Decrease vertical space between New topic button and bottom of topics.

I do not like having to click on an additional button to 'show more' on someone's blog. I much preferred to click a blog and see the post. Also, for some reason the forums color scheme just sits wrong with me. Can't quite put my finger on it. Just seems more stark and glaring.

ablility to see each users gamer tag while in the forums. view users location in the forums. change the breadcrumb thingy they talked about above. there seems to be a container level missing or something. i also thought that moving to a forum and viewing new/active threads would limit or filter the list just to that forum, but it always site wide. i would like the ability to copy something from the reply box. as it is now, if you right click, you get the option to paste. there seems to be alot of issues with the search bar, but i'll keep tinkering with it. maybe i don't know how to work it right yet. it took me a little while in v2 to figure it out. when posting from my android, any extra spaces and blank lines are removed. it can make it much tougher to read when there are no paragraphs. especially since i'm lazy and don't capatalize anything. MOAR SMILIES.

Also, how do you change the time? Currently, posts are 2 hours behind actual time

There maybe somewhere else to post this but anyway. When I click through to my clan from the "my groups" button the forum tab doesnt show any threads. When I click through from the general Forums button the threads are all present and correct.
