Well, that didn't go too well

The other day I made the mistake of trying to post a blog about a videogame without resorting to name calling, insults or wishing death and destruction on all involved. I even said right at the beginning, if you think this is another rant it isn't.

It was just my observations about a game that's it. I made ONE simple comment right at the end about not busting the developers chops because I don't know anything about programing games and that apparantly was the ONE THING that irritated some people.

So.. right off the bat..

To the person who said actually said something positive.. THANKS - seriously.

For the record and let me make this as simple as possible .  I am in NO WAY just shrugging my shoulders, rolling over, or accepting the fact that a game developer made a product that has some serious issues involving online support or gameplay or whatever.  The sentence at the end of the last post was just a closing sentence. I don't know anything about programing so yes, me telling a programmer he doesn't know how to make a game would be similar to that same programmer who doesn't know the first thing about my proffesion, coming  to my job and telling me I didn't know what I was doing.

I bought Homefront based on the marketing, I wanted it to be a good game and entertaining and yes, I have been dissapointed. I have played some online and when it works, the game is good. Sometimes it locks up or the servers are down. If that continues, then this will be last game I buy from that developer. If anyone bothered to read my comment on "Dead Money"  I said I probably wouldn't buy any more DLC for Fallout New Vegas based on that experience if I don't like it, I don't buy it. Based on this whole Homefront issue I think any future game purchases will be on hold until some reviews come in from people actually playing the finished product and not the media hype.

Hopefully, that clears up any misconceptions about my position about the issue. Now, one other thing that irked me.

To Cryptic Cat,  The comment, "People like you".  Really? People like me?  You don't know anything about me and, if you base your assesment  of me from anything from this site, then you are grossly missinformed.   You may be suprised to know I actually read your blog posts and you yourself have cautioned others about making broad judgments about  people who follow your faith.  I would appreciated you showing the same consideration you ask of everyone else. As far as suggesting I have money to burn, I don't.  Yes,I have a job that I like and I make a decent wage, but my money goes to supporting my family and providing for them. I am fortunant that I can afforrd to buy a game once in a while, but  don't think for a second I spend $60 on a game and if it doesn't  work, I just go, "oh well".  I get angry like everyone else, the only difference is I don't go online and make comments like, " whoever made this game should never be allowed to make another game"   If a developer makes a bad game, then tell people not to buy the game and explain why.

Thats it for me.  Have fun kids.  I'm going to go look at Gun Gals on Joker's blog and shop for Ugg boots with all the money I alledgely have.

Geeeez.............I wouldn't think that a rich man like you would get all worked up like that.\r \r \r Wait, I just noticed that you live in the Commonwealth of Virginia where a six figure salary will buy you a two bedroom trailer and a rental pot to piss in. You can't be rich in Virginia.

I was not my intention to anger you. Yet, a faith, either by converting or by being born with, and sticking with it, is a free choice available to one and all.\r \r Buying a specific game only has one other choice, don't buy it. That's not a free choice. Like I said, there isn't another studio that offers Homefront (either cheaper or with less problems) than Kaos.\r \r Due to this, gamers are taken for granted and so is their money. We're not shouting hard enough, not kicking hard enough. We're living in a time where swapshops are not accepting titles because they get traded in faster than they sell. (TDU2). We the gamers must demand better product for our money. Since the wallet-vote doesn't work in this case, then yeah, I support the tar, feathers, rakes and pitchforks approach.

Well, just so you know Buckeye, I made my last piss pot payment last week. Now I own it! and, my home has three bedrooms after I \"found\" enough plywood at a construction site. Incidentally, we bluebloods prefer the term mobile pre-manufactured home.\r \r And Cryptic, Have fun storming the castle!

I moved to va for a 40k pay increase. In Indiana, I had a new truck, a new Benz and a house much too big for my needs. Now I have 2 used cars I don't like and a house too small for my family. Where did the 40k go? Oh yeah, Fucking Virginia! Why must I pay taxes on a car and then pay taxes on it again every fucking year? Don't get me started on how much food costs here.....
