Upgrading Xboxes

I'm such a loser. I bought the COD Elite and it's STILL in the BOX. So, I've made a decision...


My younger brothers have PS3. My father has Halo 1 on the computer. I'm giving him my old Xbox.

Could I sell it? Probably. However, the cover for the USB connections on the front has broken off, limiting it's worth. It runs like a dream, but I have this GORGEOUS Elite sitting on my desk at home, taunting me. I shall relinquish the Halo 3 box to my father, give him Halo 3 and Hawx, and possibly buy LIPS for Mom, or just give em Rockband. My younger brother's aren't worthy.


Here's my dilemma, when switching consoles, what to do with all my information? Memory card it onto the new one? Have XBL carry over all my game saves? Aren't my past games saved somehow onto the hard drive?


I am a mediocre computer user. Like cars, I know engines, but I don't understand how they run.


How do I do this?

Get the transfer tool from someone. You'll just migrate all your shit from the 20GB drive to the 250 all at once. If you know someone that bought a 120 GB HD or an original Elite they may have the Transfer Kit.

The new elite didn't come with one? That's weird. Coulow shoot me a message if you don't have one, I think I can still dig mine out from somewhere.

you're totally lucky, TANK's blog just talked about the Transfer kits not being available...I have one too...just in case. :D
