Current Week: 16

Weekly Record: 30

Total YTD: 644 miles

Long Distance Run this Week: 10

Long Distance Run Record: 13.1 miles in 2:21:12

Had a good long run, but didn't do much for the rest of the week. I am picking up the pace though. I used to run at 6 mph. Now I keep a minimum of 6.2 and try to go 6.5 or 7. I plan to do better in the next race.

Still playing Diablo 3. I've got mixed feelings about that game. On the one hand, the coop is fun and it can be pretty fun overall at times.

On the other hand, it is an endless game that becomes a grind. That becomes kinda boring to me after a few hours. I've heard of some people beating that game multiple times. I don't intend to do that.

The worst part though is realizing that the game requires no skill whatsoever. If you can't beat an enemy, then you just grind a while until you can. I don't know about that... It makes me want to play Ninja Gaiden instead.

Diablo 3 is so much like Diablo 2 that I sometimes feel I am playing the same game. That's not necessarily a bad thing; I liked Diablo 2. But it feels odd. The lower number of types of classes - and the classes' odd names compared to the original - stands out.

This is the type of game that is tailor-made for DLC. I'll probably play it through once, then shelve it until the Act V DLC comes out. I don't regret buying it, but wish I had waited a while for it to be cheaper.

This morning, my youngest asked if God is real or not. I told him, "A lot of people think he's real, and a lot of people think he's not. You have to decide for yourself. And you don't have to decide right now, either. You can wait a few years."

I wanted to tell him what I think about it, but held my tongue. I won't tell him unless he asks me. I really want him to learn to think for himself about that sort of thing, and form his own beliefs - or lack thereof. If that leaves him wondering about things for a while, that's good.

I also refuse to let others brainwash or program him. I'm going to teach both my kids to question everything. There are few solid answers in life, unfortunately. And those that claim they have all the answers are usually lying about it. A little skepticism in life is a healthy thing IMO.

Happy Friday!
