Update for the challenge: Does \"Goodnight Moon\" count?

Since my last entry I've read a non fiction about pretenders, people who pretend to be people they are not. Usually it's people claiming to be royalty, like that woman who claimed to be Anastasia: the daughter of the Russian Czar killed in the revolution.  It was OK: I am always amazed at how creative people can be. One claimant was a poor lower class man living in Australia, claiming to be a shipwreck survivor and heir to a fortune. Anyway this guy has no money to hire lawyers to help him with his claim, so what does he do? He sells shares: you buy shares cheap and when he comes into his fortune he pays back 10X what they were bought for.  Now why can't I think up stuff like that??

I am also reading "In Praise of Slow" by Carl Honore.  It's a non fiction book about the slow revolution, about people taking time to do things in a slower manner. Like taking time to actually cook real food, or meditation, or (gasp) driving the speed limit. It was a fantastic read.

Now I'm on an old re-read: Julian Barnes: History of the World in 10 1/2 chapters.  It's fantastic and I recommend it to anyone.

So basically the 50 book challenge isn't going so well. I knew it was going to be hard, so I have to cut myself some slack. Besides, which is better? Having fun with Miss Erica Charlotte or reading?  Or blogging for that matter: Gotta run, daytime is a wastin'!  I hope y'all take time to enjoy the sunshine and (perhaps) a few wobbly pops this weekend!

Isn't it a success if you earnestly try the 50-book challenge? I mean a year's reading is quite the accomplishment. Plus, Dr. Seuss books only take a few minutes (j/k)!
