So I guess the title of todays blog should say it all. I'm not very excited about today. There is no particular reason. I stayed up a couple hours past bedtime last night to get my toon to 22 on WoW, am a little bit more tired than usual. But then again when you wake up at 0445 (4:45am) almost daily I guess you will always be tired in the morning. Unless you go to bed at 1900 (7pm) which is NOT going to happen in my time.

Not sure what to write this morning. How about some thoughts?:

Quitting drinking has been the suck. It's been just over 3 months since I had a drop and can honestly say I can't stand the people I used to hang out with. I guess because I was drunk when I was with them and could tolerate them. What's funny is that they all know that I quit drinking and STILL try to get me to go out and booze it up with them. I think I am going to get a new cell phone number. I am too polite to just start roundhouse kicking people in the chest.

Quitting smoking has been great! I have this little "time table for recovery" when you quit smoking. It lists by days/weeks/months/ the differences you should notice in your body and health now that you don't smoke anymore. I actually do notice a big change. It's been 6 months this weekend that I have quit and thought I would share some of what I have noticed:

I can run without hacking loogeys now.

Taste has definately sharpened. I ate a pixie stick the other day for the first time in a decade and it was so sweet I almost pissed myself.

I can smell the fabric softner in my clothes instead of an ashy smoke residue scent.

Because I am not taking smoke breaks every 20 minutes at work and wasting time, I have more time to goof off on the computer.

No additional cigarette burns on the interior of my car...or the passengers that sit next to me.

I am saving almost $100 a month by not buying cigarettes. (Add the money saved by not buying alcoholic beverages and its a nice bundle!)

Clerks 2 is out on DvD. I will probably go buy that today at Best Buy. I am a pretty big fan of Kevin (not Michael...Thanks ElmanJo for the correction) Smith...even though he is from Jersey. (hehe...Im from NY originally. Rivalry)

All but Chasing Amy. What a fricking whinefest. \r I too feel your pain from being on the wagon. Sunday was 5 weeks without booze and the difference has been pretty drastic. I've dropped 15 pounds, fat from overindulgence. You drink that much Coors Light, it ain't light. I can't give up my dip yet, though. The wife wants me to quit it as well, but I don't want to get divorced from trying to go from sinner to saint all at once! Keep it up, bro!

Congrats on being smoke and booze free man. Wish I could get my girlfriend on the wagon...\r \r Another Kevin Smith fan! W00t! \r \r All of my close friends think I look like Kevin Smith so I dressed up as Silent Bob for Halloween one year and went to Dragon*con as him. Had a buddy dress up as Jay and we went around harassing people.\r \r It was fun.
