Totally late to this Twitter party

My man has a popular hockey blog, and for ages he has been making use of Twitter to promote and entertain. It's been on my peripheral for ages, but I never got an account. Until this weekend that is. jay_cat is my twitter name (original, I know) and I have enjoying it.

So far I'm enjoying the fact that I can ping folk with questions, find out what my friends are up to and communicate with people all day. Not so much liking other aspects. The spam. And I am learning to dislike auto-tweets. Call me hateful, but I don't really care if people are playing an xbox game, I want to know what they feel about it. But I am like that. I would rather read editorials over the facts. I care more what people think about the news than what the news is. I wonder what that says about me and my personality. And speaking of what I am thinking:

Excited for Lan

Worried about the flight (overactive imagination)

Don't worry about the flight! You are safer in the air that in a car. Or so they say. See ya Thursday!

Or course, that car statistic is a major distortion the airlines use to lull you into a sense of security. You are bound to go down in a glorious flaming mass or twisted metal and zombie parts.\r \r Have fun!\r \r P.S. I get on a plane tomorrow.\r

That's why I'm choosy as to who I follow on twitter. Hopefully my random ramblings about the lake don't annoy you! :)\r \r I fly in to Chicago Friday morning. Look forward to meeting you and all the other 2o2p folk.

I use twitter but i still don't get the appeal. With email, blogs and IMs, twitter just seems unnecessary. But i guess it's what all the cool kids are doing these days\r \r
