The Tortise and the Hare
In life, the saying goes that slow and steady wins the race. I don't think this applies to internet connections and gaming. I now have a new crutch to lean on when i'm suckin' ass at Halo. i went to speedtest.net and checked my internet connection. I knew i didn't have the greatest connection from all the redbars i get when playing, but i didn't expect to see this:

So now when i get owned, i'm gonna pull out my "internet connection sucks" card. It's kinda like a get out of jail free card.
just out of curiosity, does anyone else have verizon DSL? if so, how is it for you?

I used to until I dropped my land line and switch to cable.\r
It worked well when I had it, but it is VERY susceptible to problems or bad connections in the wiring and connections. I ran a dedicated line without a wall-plate to the modem.\r
What is your speed supposed to be?\r
Are you using a router?
Dude, you got problems.\r
1. Isolate the problem\r
•Make sure your filters are on everything except your modem. Run speed test\r
•Bypass your router. Hook your computer directly to the modem. Run speed test\r
•Connect modem to a different phone jack. Run speed test\r
•If possible borrow someone’s computer or laptop. Use your modem and Run speed test\r
\r
If you still have problems, call Verizon. Your modem, your phone lines or both are the most likely your bottleneck. Even if your computer is not configured correctly your speed should be MUCH better.\r
\r
If your Router is the problem, it should be the easiest to fix. Let us know.\r
