The Darkness is coming
Welcome to Livan's Base. This is my first time blogging and I will be trying to make this an interesting read for all that visit. My wish is to try and update as much as possible with news, thoughts, ideas and/or opinions. I just want to thank all of you and please feel free to comment or reply on any and all topics that may be posted here. BTW, I am a big fan of the Xbox 360 as it is currently the only system I play due to the their wonderful Xbox Live Service. Now for my entry..............
Most gamers know that this time of the year is usually a slow time for new releases in the video game industry. Thankfully, this year seems to be different with quality titles that will be coming into our hands. One title that has me excited is a game that goes by, "The Darkness." The Darkness is a first person shooter that really seems to have a different vibe then all of the other first person shooters. The Darkness is based on the comic book series starring Jackie Estacado, a possessed Mafia hitman who has a horde of demons that do his bidding. On the eve of his 21st birthday, Jackie Estacado is suddenly possessed by the terrifying and spectacular powers of The Darkness. Though his supernatural entity lets him wreak terrible havoc on his enemies, the Darkness also has a strong will of its own and now Jackie must learn how to control it. Gameplay features include a seamless and unique blend of modern crime drama and supernatural horror with both first and third person non-linear progression, as well as highly destructible environments that enable players to stalk the gritty New York slums, harbors, subway tunnels and rooftops, then defeat the terrifying creatures of The Otherworld (a parallel reality where the Darkness dwells). The Darkness is being developed by Starbreeze (of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay fame) and if they come close to replicating Riddick, then this game should be worthy of your purchase. This title is slated to be available in stores on Tuesday, June 26, 2007. The Darkness has been reviewed by one major website as of this posting. 1UP.com has given this game a 9.0 (Excellent) rating. If you like to get Reviews of games before making a purchase, check out GameRankings.com for a list of sites with reviews.
Other titles that will be showing up in stores for the Xbox 360 this week (6/24/07 - 6/30/07) include: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Action), Hour of Victory (FPS), The Bigs (Sports), Transformers (Action), Overlord (Action RPG), and Ratatouille (Action / Adventure).
