The Colbert Report

Last night on the Colbert report there was some journalist, last name Weiner who was talking about his book--something like The Geography of Bliss? Or something similar. Anyway apparently this guy was tired of always going to depressing, war-torn countries and made it his goal to travel around and figure out which countries were the happiest.

He didn't have a chance to elaborate much between Colbert's little one-liners but he did say that Iceland and Denmark are the happiest countries on earth. Why? Because they drink like fish. He elaborated--they get sloshed on weekends but during the week, nary a sip.

Now does that sound like anyone you know? If you are unsure please read my previous post.

PS I have been to Iceland. Even before he named them I guessed that would be one of the top. That is really a fantastic country and if you ever get a chance, check it out. No it is not all ice.

PPS Happy Birthday Dragonsfairy! Pants off in celebration!

Here's to you Mr. Zamboni Driver, without you all those hockey players would be slipping on scratched up ice.

Countries like Denmark, Sweden, and Norway are amongst the best countries to live in. Great per capita income and awesome friendly people. Too bad the winters are so freakin cold.

I heard one time that Finland had one of the highest suicide rates of any country in the world, particularly the Province of Lapland. I think it's due to the really brutal and dark winters. That might also explain why the chief exporter of Black Death Metal are the Scandinavian Countries.\r \r I have heard that these countries are nice places to live for the most part. I've always wanted to pay one of them a visit.

When I was in Iceland they said most houses had internet--and almost all, like over 99% of people had cell phones. I guess it's been a rich country ever since right after WWII, when all the other countries sank each others' boats and Iceland was left to rake in the cash from fishing.
