Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving. We too are not cooking today, though we were scheduled to. Our niece decided last week that she would rather cook than drive the hour to our house!\r \r As an eleven year cancer survivor, I know that we, like you and your husband, have much to be thankful for. In addition, our daughter had her 5th child (a second daughter) about 4 months ago and our son had his first child a week and a half ago. So we are truely blessed this year.\r \r I hope you and all our friends at 2o2p have great and thankful holiday!

I gave you a +1 for being brave = )\r \r I understand this, but I don't think the masses will embrace it.\r \r I wish instead of Peta going after becoming a vegetarian, they would go after trying to stop the abuse of any animal. \r \r If we are going to eat them we should treat them with respect, care and a life without harm. I don’t think it will happen in our life time. We can only mistreat animals for so long before it bites us back in our guts. \r \r I do my part the best I can. I’m a Whole Foods girl.\r \r I buy from farms that treat them with care, sun, grass fed, and no chemicals/hormones/antibiotics. This goes for eggs, milk and all dairy, and veggies too!! I’m not a bug and I don’t need or want pesticides in my body. It’s not easy finding these types of farms and many lie. \r \r BasBleu Happy Tofurky! = )\r

Char: I KNOW most people will not stop eating meat and I am not a preacher of that route. Do I WISH people would? Yes, of course. But like you said, if people will not go vegetarian, at least treat these poor creatures humanely. That is my take on it. I don't make \"scenes\" when people eat meat. I only ask that they understand how it got on their plate. PETA is extreme. I certainly do not agree with some of their tactics, but their overall, (and sometimes overlooked) message is important.

I am totally for animal welfare, but I am not going all the way and going for animal rights. Thumbs up, girl!\r \r I would do more vegetarian, but I have no idea what to make that is really hearty (it's THAT time of year: everything is cold and yuck: you want to come home to something warm and comforting)\r \r Maybe you can give us suggestions? Just no tofu and no \"meatless meat\"

I'm with you Bas. (Kinda)\r I consume large quantities of dead animal flesh and skin DAILY!!! And will continue to do so, but all animals feel pain and there is no need at all to torture them.\r If you're going to eat it, kill em quick or leave it alone.\r Like pulling wings off of flies, it serves no purpose.
