Tell the truth now....
So, my experiences of late on Live have me wondering….
How many of you males from this community actually wish gaming females would go back into their closet?
I only ask because the hostility women gamers get in a pregame lobby is ludicrous. In the past month the lewd and crude comments I have received are at an all time high. I suppose I had forgotten, or just hadn’t had the privilege of dealing with this in awhile. So, it got me thinking. If this many jerks are harassing me, how many of you are secretly wishing gamers like me would drop of this site and out of the gaming community in general. Now I’m not talking about the gaming girls who can hold their own against the guys. I’m talking about the average to below average player. The girls who “run & gun”. Basically, girls like me.
Example, I love Halo. I mean LOVE it. I am nowhere near the skill level of half our clan members. We have a lot of fun. Nobody hollers at each other about a missed opportunity at a kill or a win. We must have a very rare clan, very rare indeed.
My experiences of late have shown me that better than half the gaming community still does not accept gaming girls, or gaming people with lesser skills in general. So how do you “truly” feel about gaming girls?

I've been trying to get my wife to sign up on this site for ages. However, First-person shooters make her sick. We do enjoy a good game of puzzle fighter though.\r

It's not female gamers. Everyone you meet in random matchmaking is a jackass, plain and simple. I'm not sure how the math works out but the only way to get a decent game is to get into a private one. It's physics.
I enjoy playing with the ladies. The ladies in our clan are some of the funnest players I have played with, simply for the reason I can tell how much they are enjoying just playing. I much prefer peach punches over tbags. But I do I feel sorry for many of the girls that go into MM alone. I have even seen people on my friends list turn into a 10 year old when they hear a woman's voice. I am not in your shoes, but I have seen much of your point.
Fems and gaming are great. Out of the female gaming population here, I probably rank into the same percentile of expertise as among the male population. (In other words, near the bottom). Doesn't matter, I would rather y'all be here than not.\r

Keep gaming and stick w/ 2o2p as much as possible. And MikeTheKnife nailed it, the Timmies (of whatever age) can ruin anyone's day.
Just as in sports, I like gaming with women as much as men. They bring a different dimension to the game ( and I don't mean hoobs), which I find refreshing.
Well there are a couple of female gamers in our clan. And I really like gaming with them, that's why you don't go into matchmaking unless your with your clan. Either someone really good, that makes them shut up with there gameplay or some really good smacktalkers.\r

I agree with lbsutke and Aonon, I really don't care what sex or gender a person is in an online game, as long as people are having fun and not being rude to one another (a little trash talk is fine) I'm game. When people scream \"faggot\" and \"pussy\" and call each other racial slurs or anything else, I don't see the reasoning, nor do I have the patience for it.\r

As far as answering your question, should women stop playing games? No, you shouldn't back down from a bunch of children having issues with your sex. Make it their issue and have fun.\r

What I find pathetic is when guys ask girls where they're from and how old they are. Like there's any sort of infinitesimal chance they live in the same area code.
There is no shortage of stupidity and the COD4 beta is reminding me why we end up playing with our clans/sitemembers. But to address your question, I think most of us don't mind playing with newer or less than average skill level players. The ones that do are the ones in the competitive ladders and are surrounded by upper ranked players constantly. Most of those folks can turn that off at will. I am not a stellar or limelight player by any means, I'm a support guy. I'm the guy with 15 assists and four kills...but every night my box is full of game invites. I hope you're not discounting yourself, because you kicked my ass in the H3 beta....\r

In general i have no issue with girl gamers at all and how they play. My only one issue is when you get multiple girls on the same team that know each other, they can not only play but they can clog up the in-game comms with idle chit chat. Guys can really only be focused on blasting faces and utter the most basic communications. But women can play and carry on full conversations not game related at the same time and it gets irritating when it happens. But it doesn't happen often so that's why it's just a small minor complaint.\r

However I've been in lobbies where women bashing goes on and it makes me sick. So much disrespect and verbal abuse. It's ridiculous.
Notice how Mike James said \"nicer\" when comparing girl teabags with guys. HRm..... Back to the issue at hand. It's unfortunate that girl gamers get the short end of the stick but since video games are dominated by guys, they feel like it's a \"club\" of sorts. Guys always act a little different when it's just guys. They start saying things and don't know when to stop. Also, part of the \"game\" is to basically be \"mean enough\" to a girl so that she shows interest. Some guys just don't know where that line is and they think they are cool when in reality, they are jerks. Afterwards I'm sure they are talking more trash with their buddies to act cool. Just think that they are trying to hit on you because that's probably what they are trying to do... ;) Hopefully you can find solace in the fact that most of them are virgins that will never actually touch a woman. I will sign any petition and do anything to bring in more girl gamers because girl gamers are the best kind. :D

They just want your attention, thats all. A lot of trash has come back to Halo 2 these days in preparation of Halo 3. Ah, thank goodness for the A-hole button in Halo 3, muting them will be quick and painless. And like Tdrag says, kick there asses and they'll quit before you could say \"double what\" LOL.
Hands down, in my opinion, woman make everything better! :-) It seemed like for a while things got better in matchmaking, less homophobia, less racism, less misogynistic abuse, but alas I think with H3 around the corner more of the ass hats have returned to MM. :-( Dont let them bring ya down WW. They are weak, sorry, pathetic losers and you are an Amazonian Goddess!! Dont give them the satisfaction of getting you upset. The truth is its a woman's world and the rest of us are just living in it :lol: :lol: Remember that those that spew hatred and abuse, are only showing the world how horrible they feel about themselves inside. When you like yourself, and have respect for yourself, you dont treat others with disrespect, or hatred. I assume you are talking about guys from 202p??????? If so I would avoid or minimize contact with the people that make you feel uncomfortable, if its MM thats another story. Myself I like an assortment of personalities to game with, Lady gamers always add a nice flair to games and lobbies. It would be sad if there were less to game with. :(

Well said Mulch. The little I have had the pleasure of playing with the women of the gaming world has been great, for the most part. I think some of these knuckle draggers problem is they're afraid they're gonna get the wee asses spanked by a girlie! Or in Queens case, chased down, blowed up and then 'clam slammed'! Wow Queen, what a response!! I am sorry I missed your blog earlier. I have definitely noticed a higher level of douchebaggerry in smack talking as of late in H2. The fact that you have a \"girly\" type gamertag makes you east prey for the timmies. If I ever see a \"girly\" type tag in MM, I think - cool, some girls do play! This will all be put to rest (timmie wise) in H3 thanks to the A-hole button, and in combination with the \"who do you want to hear\" system where everyone except the people in your party are muted. It truly made the Beta a wonderful experience!\r

I agree with you Queen. I believe last friday when we played in BTB you had guys trying to talk crap to you. They just suck. I wish there were more gamer girls. I have some much fun playing with you and Flap. I have played against Phreak and she has kicked my butt a few times. I wish I could get my wife to play but I'm sure she would only have to hear a few timmies and she would quit or get into a fight. It sucks!!
Some of the nicer people I've been killed by have been women. I'm aware of it, but don't have a problem with it. I do have a problem with the the ones with a vocabulary limited to four letter words, but I have the same problem with men with limited vocabularies. I still play with them, but I mainly keep my mouth shut.
WOW!!! Being a female gamer myself, I can totally relate to your comments Madwoman... We play ALOT of R6V and I've been totally ripped because of my gender and sometimes, I don't keep a cool head when it happens...that pisses me off more than anything! \r

One thing is for sure....I started playing in May and got owned because I was an 'easy' target....That's not the case anymore.....when the timmies start lipping off in the lobby, I tell them that I'm the one wearing \"whatever color\" and to come and find me, I'll be waiting :) It doesn't always work out in my favor but I'll die trying and I hold my own....
