These will be easier to work with.
Edit: If this post makes no sense go through my blog history. I am making my own LED accent lighting system for my motorcycle. In short the animations can be put on a microsd card and the whole system can be controlled through wifi and a web browser.

As you can see you just daisy chain the LEDs. The old method I was going to use needed a controller that can handle 8 RGB LEDs. So there would have to be a wire going from each LED to the controller. This should save on wiring and make it really easy to add more in the future.
