Starcraft APM

In what little free time I have, I've been trying to get into Starcraft 2. The game is amazing and I really enjoy playing it but as a newbie to the genre I'm definitely over my head. BlowMonkey's had some great pointers in his blog, and I've also been checking out other sites and youtube videos for tips.


I am pretty sure I've seen this video before (and possibly even right here on 2old2play) but it blew my mind all over again this weekend. Korean gamers demonstrate "actions per minute" - basically, these guys kick everybody else's asses on the internet because they aren't necessarily good players, they're extremely fast/efficient players.

Man, that is fast. It seems alot of it is reflex and repetitive memorization as there are times they were buying when they had no funds. Still, that is far beyond anything I have seen needed for Halo or COD.

That's awesome :) the good news for us mortals is that SC2's APM requirment is much lower than Brood War. I think Day 9 said you could get by with ~90 APM. I'm terrible and I've seen mine spike as high as 130+. \r \r Now if I could make myself actually time these keystrokes properly and hit the right keys I'd be in business lol :)
