A couple of things worth mentioning today.


1) I have a new Starcraft 2 machine on the way! yeah. Currently I play on a laptop with low settings etc. On low it is very playable on my machine but underwhelming to be sure. I ordered a new iMac 27" i7 Quad Core w/ 2 gig Radeon 6970m video card. So it's about move from a small laptop screen to a nice big 2560x1440 running the game on Ultra or Extreme graphics settings. Needless to say....very excited :)


 


2) Blizzard announced a benchmark for promotion (perviously this was very much hidden)


Basically for me Bronze to Silver will require 1200 points. I'm around 350 with about a 250 bonus pool so maybe half way there if I get some games in. I guess i'm not sure I'll be able to grind out enough games before Mid December when season 4 is supposed to end. Unfortuantely it's a some what busy time of the year and I just may not get the games in....but I'm going to try! I've been fairly dissapointed with how much time I've been putting into 1v1 lately (like none lol) so maybe this will be motivation to crank out some more games!

Nice upgrade. You'll be able to run max no prob. If only they made BF3 for the mac....

Are you finding the matchmaking system as messed up as I am. My and my buddy are solid top 25 silver as 2v2 and we get matched up with everything from legit bottom level bronze to platinum guys that call it an even match going into it. Seems really strange to have such a wide range of players being classified as even. Makes me wonder about leveling up in 1v1 at all.

oh sorry Heritic didn't see this. I have noticed a large variety of players that I play. Sometimes I'm shocked to see that I'm playing a Plat or Gold level player. But at the same time those players could be dropping down their ladder and I could be ascending mine so I think it makes sense.
