Here is a good band to check out.  Silversun Pickups.  I think they are more mainstream now.  I've been listening to them for awhile.  I saw them in concert in San Diego.  They seriously kick ass!

I watched them open up for one of my favorite bands (The Two Gallants) in Portland a while ago. They were good.
