Sad day...or night rather...

I have been taking care of a little elderly lady for 6 1/2 years.  You can look at some of my earlier blogs about her.  She's one of the coolest ladies ever.  I just happened upon this particular gig because her neighbors went to the same church as me.  It was supposed to be temporary, but turned into permanent.

After a couple weeks of battling a viral infection that caused some respiratory distress...she passed away this evening.

I'm going to miss her.  She was spunky, and cute, and tenacious, and a kick in the pants.  She put up with my junk, and I always knew she loved me.  Her name is Rhoda...her friends called her Rowdy...if that gives you an idea.  View Image

Not only do I get to find a new job now...but I have to do it without a person who always gave me good advice...and kept me smiling even tho' I wanted to quit.

Go hug your grandparents, if they're still around...if they're not, then hug the next thing closest to that.  Life is too short to waste time.

Amen to that sentiment. How awesome she has had you to help her - you are earnest and trustworthy. That means a lot for someone in her predicament - or for anyone. It's clear beyond the function of your job you meant something to her personally too.\r \r My condolences.

My condolences Hilskie. It was very evident that you cared very much for this women and treated her like family. I don't have my grandparents here on earth, but if they were I would want someone like you to care for them.
