Results Beer Club Round 3

I had a really tough time picking my three favorites out of this bunch. This selection was excellent overall. My three least favorites are probably the only three out of all of them I would not wish to drink again.

The good: Bell's Two Hearted Ale; Troeg's Troegenator; Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout

The bad: Heavy Seas Hang Ten; Skullsplitter; Old Speckled Hen

Already looking forward to round 4 which should be available in time for the super bowl.

Many of the American craft beers have great slogans and beer descriptions. Stone Brewery's Arrogant Bastard with its "you're not worthy" slogan is one of my favorites. It is also a delicious brew, but isn't for folks who have delicate palates. Butternut also has some entertainment value. They have one of the more fun beer websites I've seen (butternutsbeerandale.com/) Check out their cans:

Unfortunately Butternut's Farmhouse Ales didn't measure up to most of the beer club beers. Both Porkslap and Moo Thunder had an off flavor for me, maybe like a bit of can or ass. The Heinie Weisse was ok. I enjoyed the Snapperhead. In fact, I would happily take it on my next can only event, like a tailgate or a snipe hunt.

Someone's been reading Maxim.\r \r Like 4 or 5 of the beers from your beer club are featured in a Maxim article this month. The article is about new American craft beers.

I drank a Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout one time. I couldn't drink the whole thing...it made me full.

Nice! You've got another great set there. I really like the Two-hearted ale. And, Old brown dog holds a special place in my heart from a summer I spent in NH. \r
