Really?
When you go out and buy one of those "professional" bikes with the real skinny tires does it automatically come with some flamboyant set of spandex or do you have to buy that separate? Also, is their some contract you have to sign that says by no means are you to EVER ride your bike on anything but the road despite there being an 8 foot wide sidewalk thats made for walkers and bikes and regardless of if there is a half mile worth of traffic building up behind your dumb ass? Just once I would like to drive up on the side of one of these bikers and door check their hot pink/lime gree/strip club purple spandex wearing ass right off of the road.
I guess you can see how my morning started
. At least its friday though!

As much as I love the capabilities and features of my cell phone, I have one considerable complaint- the phone feature. I hate the fact that I'm always connected and reachable, something that people 15 years my minor take for granted and embrace. I miss the old days where if it was dinner time, my dad would have to yell my name across the neighborhood and there were no immediate expectations if somebody couldn't get a hold of me.
Voice usage on cellphones is way down especially for the younger gen. Us 'older' gen people still talk quite a bit and use the antiquated email more than texting and social networks. But kids today have so many ways to connect, they don't actually have to interface in realtime anymore.\r

My cellphone is just that, a phone, it doesn't do any of this new fancy stuff becuase i refuse to give a cellphone carrier 70 bucks a month for all that nonsense.\r

You want to get a hold of dad, you need to dial the phone :) I know it's oldschool but I ain't a young'un anymore.
One of these days I'm going to stop one of these teens who drive and yap at the same time and physically insert their phone into their ass. Maybe they can drive better that way. Tired of being cut off and I mean for Cripes sake I drive a huge F250 diesel and they still can't see me!
I know many riders are forgiving in there riding, but there are some that are just asses. Driving near the coast here on weekends can be a hassle for many bikers travel in packs. Named after a group of these rides, I often call these groups Critical Massholes. Many of these jerks go riding through red lights and almost getting hit each time, or a larger group will have a few just block the road to let the rest go trough and keep their douche ride in a big group.
as a driver, I feel your pain. but as the occasional cyclist, I have to say that I've been there and wish I could use that beautiful sidewalk -- but around me the cops will ticket cyclists for using the sidewalk! \"bikes are vehicles and the sidewalk is for pedestrians\". I'd much prefer to get myself away from those big cars that could take me out with just a small bump\r

hope your Friday gets better!
As an avid cyclist, I get incredible heartburn reading people talking about \"door checking\" cyclists. In nearly every state, cyclists are accorded the same privileges as vehicles and are entitled to the road the same as you are. For the record, in most of these same states, cyclists are prohibited from riding \"at speed\" on sidewalks also. \r

Group rides are typically the only defense cyclists have against being impacted from behind by the way. As most cyclist deaths occur from \"I didn't see him/her\", group riding provides a target that hopefully most drivers can see and then avoid. Crash is right in that cyclists also have a responsibility to accommodate vehicle traffic by riding single file when there is little to no shoulder or traffic demands it. I can tell you are joking but door checking a cyclist at speed is likely to result in a serious injury to that person. \r

If you would like some perspective, take a bike out on a 20 miler one afternoon and see yourself exactly how little respect or safety is offered by motorists. We deal with it every time we ride. I have been clipped by side view mirrors (once with a serious accident occurring) and buzzed numerous times at a speed and distance close enough to make me about shit my bike shorts. My brother in law during an MS fundraising ride was clipped a few years back resulting in a wreck bad enough that he spent days in the hospital, months in a casts and years trying to get back up the motivation to enjoy again something that he loved. Just a thought to keep in mind as you pass the next group.
lol you guys are awesome. Obviously I would never \"door check\" any biker. What was really annoying this morning was that this particular road has an 8 foot wide sidewalk next to it specifically for Bikers and walkers, with signs saying so. lol oh well.
This is why I stay in the woods with my bike. Too many crazies in cars on the street
