Race Goodness and Trojan/Virus Badness
Went to the Nascar Busch Series O'Reilly Challange at Texas Motor Speedway yesterday.
I've never been to a Nascar race before, so this was an interesting experience. One word: LOUD. My father and I both put napkins in our ears since we didn't know what to expect and hadn't brought ear plugs with us.
The seats were excellent... under the overhang and right before Turn 1 just in front of the exit from Pit Row. You could really see the entire track.
If I had more invested in the event (I'm not a big racing fan) I probably would have been more excited about it. As it was, I actually snoozed a little during the last half of the race as it was getting to be a bit boring for me.
My dad and I made fun of all the walking advertisements when we were waiting to get out of the parking lot once the race was over. Dear lord. Budweiser everywhere! The true die-hard fans all had their special Nascar coats with the same exact advertising of sponsors that their favorite drivers have on their cars.
Sorry, but I don't pay good money to advertise someone else's product on my clothing. It was pretty humorous to me and my dad.
In bad news, I somehow downloaded and executed a well-known Trojan-Horse / Virus. Still kicking myself about that, as I'm smarter than that and knew better. I'm proud to say that this is the first virus / trojan horse that I am aware of that I have ever infected one of my computers with.
This one is somewhat nasty though... After running Spybot, AdAware, and a few other programs, I still can't kill the damn thing off. Starting to tick me off.
I've even got suckered into downloading some anti-spyware programs that themselves were spyware. It's almost like an avalanche right now.
I think I've cleaned the majority of the crap up, but I know some registry keys are still there as well as a few files that I can't locate.
The Trojan is called the Smitfraud-C. Trojan.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
