Jimi Hendrix

One of the founding members of the "27 Club" (Himself, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain), Hendrix helped pioneer the technique of guitar feedback with overdriven amplifiers.

*  (For those of you who don't know what the "27 Club" is, it's artists who died at the pinnacle of their career at the age of 27. There are others, but these 5 are the most well known.
