Pulled the Trigger

I have proudly joined the ranks of HD owners today.
Fry's graciously worked to fit me in to deliver a TV I bought just yesterday. Mitsubishi LT-46231. 46" Flatscreen LCD.
OMG! Xbox 360 ROCKS in HD. Crackdown in HD on a 46" TV? Holy shit!
So, why the Mitsubishi? Well, after countless research, I felt they had the least issues involved. I combed through the AVS forums for each brand I was interested in, and the following is a least of at least 1 major problem for each manufacturer"
Sharp: "Banding" Not sure how to explain it, but the complaints were numerous, and not only in the AVS forums, but on CNET and Pricegrabber as well.
Sony: Said to have the best picture around, complaints of "Clouding" was the major issue with this brand. Again, not only in the AVS forums, but elsewhere.
Samsung: "Overscanning". Not sure what this is, but numerous complaints abound in regards to this.
Now, granted, these issues were specific for the LCD flatscreens.
Here's the deal, if I am going to sink $3k into a TV, I am damn sure I am going to get my money's worth. I researched the Mitsu, and I could find no major complaints against it.
In fact, a lot of former Sony owners felt it had as good, if not better picture then the Sony Bravias, once you calibrated it properly. That's the key. Calibration.
The great thing about the Mitsu compared to the other big 3 LCD makers is that you can adjust each individual color. And on this model, you can also adjust each individual color's tint. Talk about calibration!
Anyways, working on re-routing all my wiring and configuring my system all over again. Next step is ordering HD from DirectTV and installing an over-the-air HD antenna.
Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!
