Project Duncan
I'll be the first person to admit that, sometimes, I'm just not right in the head. One of my little "eccentricities" is naming my devices (like some guys name cars or boats). My Xbox 360 is Sheila (after the Tank AI in Red vs. Blue), my PS3 is Wendy (for no particular reason), and Christine is my recently-departed PC. In keeping tradition, I've already chosen the name of my PC-to-be - Duncan. Project Duncan is the (continuing) process of building my PC. Keep in mind this is my first actual build, and it's partly an educational process (I need to brush up on my PC hardware knowledge to help prepare for the A+ Certification). Anyway, I'm still gathering the last couple parts, but so far Duncan will contain the following:
Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 8350 8-Core Processor, Black Edition
RAM: G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 (1866) SDRAM
HD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal
GFX Card: ASUS GeForce GTX 660 DirectCUII
Power Supply: Corsair CX Series 600 Watt
I'm not going BluRay on the optical drive, and I'm going to run Windows 7 (which I won't have to pay for - bonus). As far as the case, I'm thinking Duncan will look like this:
Anyway, that's it for now.
