Problem partially solved?

So my last entry talked about how there's no high speed internet where I'm moving too and how I was screwed.
We talked to Time Warner cable (our current provider) to find out why there're not in that area since I work in the field of communications and I noticed that the main cable feed is indeed on the telephone poles down the street but not going by our new house.
Their answer was that not enough customers on that road wanted service so they couldn't warrant running service down there because they wouldn't make enough money on 1 or 2 services to pay for the materials.

I can understand that because like I said, I install main fiber-optic and cable lines so I know how much that stuff costs per foot. They said they would run a main feed down to our new house but it would cost us over $2000, meaning we're basically covering their loses for the service. And it would cost us less depending on how many more customers we could scrounge up on that same street. We needed at least 4 houses to sign up so that installation wouldn't cost us anything.

We just got back from going door to door and checking with our future neighbors.

We got 8 of them to sign up!

So it looks like I won't be losing my high speed internet afterall.
