Oh yeah...

So, like most of you I've been vacationing in Skyrim the last few days.  Pretty sure I'm going to move there permanently.  I've already had my mail forwarded and have a nice little cottage with a 2 bedroom loft and an alchemy table off the kitchen.  Its nicely located next to the mundane crafts shop, where I spend a good deal of my time working on armor and other trinkets.  I'd list its location next to the general goods store as a bonus, except I sort of have this werewolf...problem...that resulted in the death of the shop owner my first night in town so I have to go elsewhere for my general goods, and thats just inconvenient.  I'm definitely going to be looking into expanding my property into other holds on the continent.

In all seriousness though, I've gone with a nord sword and shield warrior and I've grown to like it more than I did at first.  I also discovered a great way to raise your block to 100 (and your overall level) very quickly.  Take on the Thieves Guild mission where you have to find the bar in the sewers.  As soon as you enter the area you'll be jumped by 2 bandits; the first has a 2-hand weapon and the other is s&s.  Quickly dispatch the 2-handed hooligan and then just sit there with your shield drawn.  The chap with the shield is quite energetic and aggressive, so this is by far the best area I've found to do this.  Anyway, give him a few taps with your shield (as long as you didn't take the shield bash perk yet, that is) to get his health down a bit and then unequip your right hand weapon.  Then equip your Healing spell in your right hand, and once your health gets down to about 2/3 drop your shield and cast the heal spell.  This gives you points in Restoration and your armor spec.  Once your mana is depleted raise your shield again and wait.  You'll get Block to 100 in no time.  Then pop him a few times with your weapon and move on.

And really, what is there to say about Skyrim?  I think the Game of the Year arguments ended a few days ago, really.  And merely referring to Skyrim as "Game of the Year" is almost insulting...this is easily the best game ever.  Ever.  E-V-E-R.  EVER, as in, "No need to EVER buy another game...EVER".

Yeah, its that good.  I'm still getting Saints 3 Tuesday but I'm not sure why...

He doesn't think he's god, just the earthly embodiment of the Universe.\r \r Anyway, the rhythm and lyrics of this song reminds me of the benelli M4 I'm saving up for.\r We're moving into a neighborhood that is notorious for mixed race couples getting messed with. I'd love to see some body burn a cross in my yard when I have that in my house.

The album is good and can be found on iTunes under Super Slave I think. He released it before changing the name to 20lb Sledge.

Like I said in my blog, Todd Howard is the superstar of gaming, once 11-11 is here and gone. Skyrim is engaging, really gives you the freedome to do what you want and do so in a meaningful and enjoyable way and the game is juts georgious. Best game ever? I have the feeling Bethesda isn't done yet by any means.\r \r But SRTT? Yeah, I'm waiting for it to drop on my doormat tomorrow. Mindless and low-brow fun, over the top combat and silly activities. SRTT is on the other extreme and it will be an experience I intend to enjoy to the fullest.\r \r Maybe we can co-op a few missions and just let it all hang out. =))

Sure, I'm up for co-op. Don't have anything planned ahead so I'll be co-oping in SR3 on a first come, first served basis. :o)

Two things:\r \r I've never had my hopes up so much for one game before.\r \r Never has a game exceeded my expectations as much as Skyrim.

I think that sums it up perfectly.

That shop keeper is an annoying git anyway. I am plotting away to do him in myself. By chance did that nice assistant lad take over the shop?

Not yet at least, and he's become quite rude since the demise of his former boss. The shopkeeper's body was still lying in the street when I returned to town the next morning so I took the liberty of removing his valuables including his shop key. Now the little bastard is living there and every time I pop in to loot the joint he comes running after me crying about calling the guards. Dick.

I concur.
