October is.....
Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Yep it's Boob sammich time, ladies. I realize some, or most, of you may not be old enough to be getting yearly mammograms, but it is never too early to check the girls yourself. But, if there is incidence of breast cancer on your side of the family, ask your doctor if it is time to start. I started when I was 35 because my dad's sister was diagnosed and my maternal grandmother died from ovarian cancer. I believe ovarian cancer and breast cancer are linked genetically. So, know your family history.
I'm not going to regurgitate statistics, there are plenty of women on this site who are more qualified than I am to give statistics. In fact there are probably a couple of us who have been through extra scans because of an abnormality found during the normal x-ray. This is my second time. The first time was scary but knowing that treatments have improved and I have been diligent in getting my exams on a yearly basis, I wasn't too cranked. This time is a lot less stressful. I should know my results some time this week. How appropriate that this is happening this month. Besides, if by some very slim chance I need treatment, I already decided I could get an upgrade! Go from a B to C? Or may be get a tat to commemorate? There is always an up side. Besides, I figure if my mom can survive colon cancer and my aunt can survive her breast cancer, I'm good to go!
EDIT: I just got the call from my doctor with the results from the MRI and all is normal!!!
Get those girls checked, if nothing else, have your man help. I'm sure you won't get any complaints, if you ask. Guys remind your women!
Would you Rather

Or
