If it was three years ago then the dems would be in an uproar and the repubs would be on the defensive.

I think we got our proverbial \"panties\" in a bunch because we were scared Obama would be shoveling liberal agenda down kids' throats. I'm glad that wasn't the case, and also glad my son isn't of grade school age yet so it wasn't an issue.

It wasn't the speech that was my main issue, my main issues were the 'topics' covered by the released lesson plans.

The lesson plans were all about supporting the savior. Ways to help the president, writing poems about the president, etc... ( I have a printed out copy sitting next to me).\r \r The speech was about as conservative as you can get. Because of all the uproar, his speech was changed.\r \r The first president Bush did something similar, and the democrats that were in charge of the house had him investigated/hearings on the matter.\r \r

rau is correct. the speech and the in classroom activities were changed significantly from what was first proposed due to backlash.

Rau? Takdud? Got any specific cites for that? Besides, how many panties were in a bunch when Regan did it and laid out his tax plan to students or when Bush talked to students twice? \r \r I don't expect any sane citations from you two, by the way.
