New updates to racing setup

I had a few days off and spent some time working on my racing rig.

I got my shifter mounted to the playseat. I bolted two brackets together, drilled out the wholes so a 1/4 inch bolt would fit through and bolted it all to the shifter plate. The cable that plugs into the shifter goes on the bottom of it, so I either had to create something that elevated it a couple of inches or mount it offset the way I did.

I also added the seat slider to the playseat so I can get my old ass in and out a little easier.

Then I got a few bed risers to elevate the table the monitors are on. I was going to build something out of wood, this was much easier and didn't cost much at all. While I had the drill out I went ahead and hard mounted the wheel.

The last thing I did was hard mount the pedals to the playseat. A few more minutes with the drill and I was able to bolt the pedals to a steel plate, then bolted the plate to the playseat.

Here's a video I made explaining how it all works.

@ CrypticCat - lol\r \r @ Fantomas - thanks, but I'll still never be as fast as you around the track :(\r \r @ Bob - glad you like it. \r \r @ Stinky - thanks. I been meaning to ask you but haven't race with you in a while, how's your Fanatec working out? Are you running as fast with it as you were before?\r \r @ Ekattan - it's the shifter Fanatec makes for all the Porsche wheels they have.

I'm about the same using the paddle shifer and button, but quite a bit slower using the H shifter. There's just no way to shift as fast using an actual clutch pedal. I'm thinking of trying the sequential shifter and see how I do with it.

Cool, I might get my sequential out and try it out too, it's still in the damn wrapper. \r \r As for the clutch, I'm usually ok in A Class and below, but when I get into the S-R2 classes it starts to get tricky. \r \r Forget about it in R1, there's a reason those cars don't use a clutch. You need both hands on the wheel at all times in them.
