Well the gun show rolled into town this past weekend and I decided to go buy some furniture and guts for my M4.  Some of the parts I already had but had not replaced on the carbine yet.  Well, after I got back from the gun show I decided to throw it all together.  Here ya go...

The gear I had for the upgrade...

Out with the old handgaurd and carry handle/rear sights...

And in with the new furniture.  I had originally wanted to get a free float rail from LaRue or DD or even YHM.  I decided to hold off on that for now.  Rather than messing with gunsmithing and changing out the gas block I decided to just drop the BattleRail 2 piece in.  I thought about the new free float 2 piece from Daniel Defense Omega Rail  but ultimately I plan on getting a 9 or 10 inch rail so for now I went the cheaper route.  I even thought about cutting down my FSB to fit a FF rail but again, for now this is what I decided on.  Anyway, the new furniture...

Swap out the Bolt Carrier Group and slap the upper back onto the lower and it looks like a whole new carbine.  Now after I save another $600 I can finally get the Aimpoint Micro T-1 4MOA/M4 QD LaRue Mount Combo and I'll be done for a while.

Looks sweet Neck. I have heard nothing but good about the DD Omegas, but if you are going for a longer rail, might as well go with a one piece once the FSB is out of the way. Can I make a suggestion? throw a Magpul ACS or CTR on that bad boy. Changes the look and rock solid lock up for a minimal amount.

Was just saying..... at least it less than the LaRue upper I need to save for. I went from wanting a YHM, to a LaRue. Had the cash for it, but decided to buy a safe to put it in first. Stupid common sense.

Looks sweet, i can't help but laugh that the M4 in shooters is always like your beginner gun and the one you instantly swap out when you get something better :lol:\r \r I need to get me a gun. We moved to a place hwere there's a shooting range 5 miles from the house. I wan to go shooting. They even allow the big 50cal stuff there too. They have a rifle range and a pistol range, i need to go check it out.\r \r

Nice man... now for the criticism. Move your rear BUIS all the way back, you lose to much real estate on your flat top with it that far forward. That's it. Zero your irons to 300m and your optics to 50m and your golden. Troy makes good shit, I'm partial to YHM, but that's me. My next few projects will call for some BCM gear and UltimAK.\r \r @Tank - Check out the M99 from Barrett. Rreasonably priced entry into the .50BMG Market. Or if your just interested in a self loading semi automatic rifle, go AK!!
