My Feet Hurt

Yesterday was like any other day at work, busy. Working in the investment industry right now has me on my toes. So, by the end of the day, I was ready to take my normal subway ride, about 25 minutes, home. Well, I got on and after zoning out on my iPod Touch for about 15 minutes, I realized that we hadn't left the station yet. I've been riding the subway a long time, so it didn't take me long to realize that this was going to be a long trip home. There is only one reason they hold a train at the stop - when it's going out of service. Well, as it turns out, the line between me and home was totally out. The train did manage to get me a few stops closer before dumping us all off. Their backup plan is to run shuttle buses, but, as most of you know, one shuttle /= one train. The end result was me walking about 7.5km home in my yet-to-be broken in dress shoes. The whole way home, I couldn't feel them at all. I guess that is a good thing.


Few things I saw/noticed along the way:


-100 people actually think they will fit on an already packed bus.


-I saw a guy dressed up as a Tim Horton's coffee cup (no camera in my phone, sorry)


-People move faster than traffic in rush hour.


-I'm so not gellin'

Taxi would have been pretty expensive, I'm guessing.\r \r That's almost 5 miles. How long did that take?

He drinks coffee by the ton, not long at all.

Thank god I live in the burbs. 5 minute drive to work, no traffic and 3 Tim Horton's along the way.

A cab (if one was available) would have taken longer. The shuttle buses were stopping in the curb lane for a few minutes at a time, this snarled traffic pretty bad. (see picture)

it took me 1 1/4 hours. I sprinted, mostly. That's how I roll.

Move to the 905... there are Horny Tims all over the place! Plus you can take the GO into town... the GO never stops.. unless someone is pushed in front of one =:(

So far that hasn't happened to me going home but it's happened once coming to work. They dumped us off a couple exits past the one i had to get off because the first few stations were closed.\r \r

when I saw the picture I thought, Hmmm... what appears to be an angry mob on Bay st. Is this a sign of things to come once the economic meltdown moves north? :)
