My Bucket List

I really haven't updated my Bucket List in quite awhile.  For those of you who don't know what a Bucket List is, it's things you want to do before you 'kick the bucket'.

Some of my old entries on my list included, bungie jumping, HALO skydiving, and BASE jumping.  I can no longer bungie jump with my back.  HALO skydiving is only available to the special forces of the Military, and BASE jumping just seems....  crazy now that I'm older.

Usually male Bucket Lists consist of some sex stuff, but I tend to keep that list seperate and won't provide it here.

Listening to Adam Carrolla via podcasts, he provided a couple unique ideas to add to my Bucket List:

1.  Skydiving - Still interested in it.

2.  Get banned from a Casino because you took it for every penny you could.  (would be a great story to tell friends when you take a Vegas trip and they want to go to a particular casino, and you say you can't, and they ask why and you explain to them that you are banned from stepping foot in there.)

3.  Go scuba diving with sharks.  Yes, sounds crazy, but I'm fascinated with sharks and would love to just be in the middle of them watching them.

4.  Travel and visit the sites of the 7 wonders of the Ancient World (I'm a huge history buff).  I've already been to Rhodes, Greece where the statue of the Colossus stood.  (1) down and 6 to go.
I'd also like to visit the following places:

Original 7 wonders:
Temple of Artemis
Great Pyramid of Giza
Hanging Gardens of Babylon - Destroyed
Colossus at Rhodes - Destroyed - Done
Lighthouse at Alexandria - Destroyed
Statue of Zeus at Olympia - Destroyed
Masusoleum of Maussollos - Destroyed

Others I'd like to see:
Great Wall of China
Machu Picchu
Petra
Taj Mahal
Angkor Wat
Pyramids of Eygpt
Stonehenge
Teotihuacan
Israel - Wailing wall, Golgotha, Temple on the Mount, etc...

Places I have seen or been to:  Rhodes, Greece, Colosseum of Rome, Saint Peter's Square, Saint Peter's Basillica, Pompei, Mt. Vesuvius, Acropolis in Athens, Parthenon at the Acropolis, Knossos of Crete, Greece, Olympic Stadium in Athens,  Thermopylae,

That's a lot of travel, and the only way I'll ever be able to see all of them, is to win the lottery.

5.   Fly a  F-18.  Doubtful it will happen, but you never know.

6.  Drive an Indy car or NASCAR.

7. Fight in a war.  Missed my shot.  It isn't that I have a death wish, or I romanticize war.  War sucks.  But, I trained for it for 4 years, and I never got to put to use that training.  On top of that, I really miss the brotherhood of the Marine Corps.  If I had stay in, I'd be a Gunnery Sergeant by now.  Probably another item that will never happen.

More to come I'm sure.

Here's two things on my Bucket List\r http://www.aircombat.com\r \r http://www.skipbarber.com/locations/road_america.aspx\r Since I live close to Road America I should be able to do one of the 1 day racing schools. They use dodge product. I might do the 3 day just to be able to drive the Viper.

Ok so this is the new fad? First it was Chuck Norris, then LOL Cats, then some South Park Avatars, and now a Bucket List. \r \r Well it's funny how people only desire to live life when confronted by death. In the mean time we all live in this rat race. \r \r

I've never met such a bucket aficionado that it appears twice in one list.

come up to Concord and you can knock out the Nascar one. they have all these day trips or whole weekends where they teach you to drive one then let you loose on the speedway.\r \r plus it's like 5 miles from my house - so free accomadations. I might even serve up some of the Chicken Fried Bacon that Tait posted.

Went to Teotihuacan in June of 97. That place is a million degrees. We climbed some of the structures and had many vendors try to sell us elaborate pipes. It was okay.

You'd actually just talk to her Dastard?\r \r I'd think you'd do more than talk... Could get violent.

Ek, I've always desired to live life.\r \r My bucket list is based on things I want to do before I die.\r \r Whether I die in a year, or it takes until I'm 75. Doesn't matter either way.

fanastic blog. To me a bucket list is sort of a silly thing. It's hard to know what you want in life by the end cause your priorities change so much. I don't hink I would ever want to have the same lsit in my 20s as my 30s etc.\r \r so my bucket list would be: an ever changing bucket list!

I want to hear about the girl who showed up at your B-day party with that story. Was she for real? Or really messed up in the head? or ? Don't just tease us then leave us hanging.....
