Mouse Hunt & [C] Day!

We have mice in our building. No great surprise, but it really freaks out some of the women I work with. One of them has even gone as far to lay out mouse traps. Not your old-school "break their backs" traps, but what I would call "sticky paper".

The sticky stuff on these things is just that, extremely sticky. Mice will not get away once they step on the paper.

Anyways, the one who has laid out the traps has so far caught 3 mice. Now, you'd think that a 100 lbs. woman would be able to dispose of a 2 oz. mouse.

Nope.

Guess who gets to? Me. Here's the rub. 2 out of the 3 mice were still alive. They gnaw at the paper until their gums bleed. You can't release them from this sticky stuff, and if you just leave them on their, they die a pretty bad death of starvation and stuff.

I grew up a hunter. I've killed my fair share of animals, but I still love and respect them, so it pains me to even see a mouse suffer.

I took the paper out by the creek that runs next to our building, picked up a stick, and ended their suffering.

I think, that if you are going to put out the trap, you should be the one who disposes of the trapped. But, I'm a sucker for a cute woman.
