At the insistence of one of my clan mates and as a way to pump up Art of War, I signed up for this tournament.  Normally, I avoid these things as I tend to fold like a lawn chair, but hope springs eternal and maybe this time is the charm.  Anyway, one of the things for the draft was to post your k/d and accuracy.  Funny thing, almost every person's k/d is over 1.  Who the heck is everybody killing?  Are there that many bad Timmy's?  Or, I have heard stories of 2old2play people sitting in a corner and shooting people as they walk by.  Haven't witnessed this since we shamed some people for it in W@W.  Seriously, I would rather face a whole team of Stabby McStabbins than have 2 people on a team sit in a corner and aim at one spot waiting for somebody to walk by.  Deer hunting is a popular sport where I live and 90% of hunters build a stand in a tree, climb up and sit for hours waiting for a deer to walk by.  That's not hunting.  Put on a loincloth, track the deer, chase him down and cut his throat with a Bowie knife.  Don't sit in a stand with your long johns, insulated boots, heated socks, and wait for something to walk by.  


My k/d is 1.22 and my accuracy is 14.99, but I have gotten the accolade for the most kills in the match over 800 times.  Seriously, if this tourney turns into a camp fest there is going to one pissed off fart.  I realize I mixed my bodily functions there, but you get the idea.

Two things to add here:\r \r 1) In my opinion, 2o2p as a cross-section of the COD community is better than average. Communication is better and amount of time played is better. This will certainly lead to k/d > 1 for most 2o2p players.\r \r 2) There are countless players out there with HORRIBLE k/d. This leads to a k/d > 1 not being all that significant. \r \r For the record, my k/d is only .8 or so....but its rising steadily and I expect it to increase as my level increases and my skill improves. \r \r I'll also add that I've played some games with some of the \"good\" 2o2p guys and they don't \"camp\" but they will control a side of the map, communicate, and trounce the other team more often then not. \r \r NG

Bama - I'm hoping for the best and a good fun, MML. But, I have my reservations that this will really be \"just for fun\". lol.

Let me see how well I remember my math:\r \r >1.0kd=camper\r your kd=1.22\r Therefore:\r you=camper! \r Just picking. :)\r \r Like Normal said, alot of people are rolling with teams and play defensively but aggressive. I've never played with anybody from this site that sits behind a rock or bush and waits for people to walk by. Not saying it doesnt happen, but I haven't seen it. My kd is 1.82(and rising) and I dont think I camp at all. I communicate with my team and we work together to hold an area of the map. This might mean one building, or maybe the lower portion of afgan. Depends on the map. I'd like to think I got my kd where it is by going +20 kills 95% of the time. \r \r As for the MML, I'm curious how it'll be competitive wise. I didnt enter it because I am super competitive and didnt want to build any tension towards anybody on this site. I'd rather be pissed at timmy.

If its anything like the Halo MML (and I think it will be very similar). Teams will win or lose based on how the GM does in drafting and trading players.\r \r Fun for sure, but if you are wanting to win, you should hope to get drafted by a good GM.\r \r NG

Please guys, not going into this with a closed mind preparing to dislike it. It just struck me funny almost nobody is posting a k/d under 1. I was just wondering if there wasn't some puffery going on

Mine is under 1. ;) I also rarely play with anyone from 2o2p and am stuck in Merc TDM which doesnt help, and I run around like a fucking madman rather than camp at all which probably all contribute.

No, no leading anything, can't handle that kind of stress. Consider me a roving assassin, shoot and run. Teamwork is not my specialty.\r @Fade, nobody believes me but merc TDM is harder than regular.

Merc TDM is harder than regular TDM? You're nuts!\r \r I regularly play TDM with a team of guys who are in their 3rd and 4th prestige and I get my ass kicked. I'm lucky to walk away with a 1.0 k/d. When I go into Merc TDM, I find guys my level (no prestige or 1st) and I'll go 14-2 or 10-4.\r \r Merc TDM is like playing FFA but with less guys to shoot you.
