Match, Laptop, and New Job?
I posted in the Halo 2: Competitive thread that my team got swept by Profanity. I have to agree with Drost in that the KOTH Midship games was one of the most spectacular games I've ever played. Of course, it would've been better had my team won, but it had everything you love in a match: intense fighting, come back win, massive deaths, explosions, narrow victory, etc. We did a great job getting in the hill, however, Bioslayer did an outstanding job of occupying strong locations, picking off opponents, communicating, and just all around play in general. I nominate him as that game's MVP. I'm not sure if he agrees, but IMO it was one of his best performances ever in an MLG custom with members from 2o2p. Here are some of his numbers:
- 56 kills and 25 assists
- 620 shots hit
- 37 headshots
- 9 doubles
- 1 triple
- 5 sticks
All around we did a great job in that game. It's a shame to lose it by 8 seconds, but Profanity's a strong team, so we have to feel good about that.
I went ahead and ordered that Compaq Presario, so I'll be capping again in no time! I really wish I had capped last night's games, but I'm pretty sure Bioslayer and MGK both recorded the games. Hopefully I'll be able to watch them again soon.
My old boss called me to her office and said that a job's going to be opening in her department in about two months and she wants me to take it. I'm not sure if I want it since it's not in my field. I asked her to send me the job description so I can review it. The upside is that I already know everyone I'd be working with and it'd be a huge pay increase, easily five figures. The downside is that it's not in my field and by taking a non-software development position, it'd be very rough to return to IT down the road. Also, the position's BOSS boss can be difficult sometimes but is reasonable...can't most bosses be difficult? Anyway, I need to learn more about the position and talk to my wife.
