Well,  Wachovia posted a major loss for last quarter. 


They are cutting 10,000 jobs.  Mostly in the loan departments.


My husband's may be one of them.


If it is.  Then my gaming life is over for a bit.  At least until he got another job.


The internet costs us $120 dollars a month.  Our gaming habits cost us another $100 a month, plus the cost of maintaining 4 tags. 


Throw up some prayers.  This will totally suck, but if Todd's job is gone....  money will be severely tight and gaming will have to be put on hold.


It has to be difficult for him right now.  The office is buzzing.  So many departments have been cut down to a skeleton crew as it is.  4000 of those jobs they say are open positions that they simply will not fill, but his main job is retail loan review - and that money maker has ceased to spout cash for the bank.

Prayers will be said on this side of the pond for you and your family. \r \r We know exactly what you are going through and can sympathise. Sure it will all work out should the worst case bear fruit. \r \r Here's hoping it doesn't though.

Thanks guys - \r \r @ Twisted - 3 Xbox's, four gold tags (me (2), husband, son) plus gamefly and then on average a new release every other month - which we have to buy at least two of course.\r \r I also pay extra for the bumped up internet connection. Running three boxes on one line is bandwith SUCK!

Hope everything goes ok with hubby's job. \r My wife works for Countrywide here on the west coast she is a Q.C. Underwriter. The layoff buzz has been running around her office for a couple months. B of A bought em out so we are hoping she can hang in there for a while.

I hate to hear that Chick. We are so dependent here in the Carolina's (especially the Charlotte area) for banking jobs. Furniture industry moved out lets just hope that these services do not also.\r \r I hope everything works out for you guys.\r \r Good Luck

Wachovia is on it's way down,sad to say.Tell hubby to start looking because in a year or less they'll be gone.Sucks.

That sucks JC. Hopefully things will work out for you. The market has started to turn around a bit globally so thats a good sign atleast. Even if you can't game, you can always find us on here to chat vent whatever.

Ugh, that sucks. I don't know what is worse in those situations, the actual loss or the worrying about whether it will happen or not...\r \r If he does lose his job, I hope there's a shiny silver lining of an even better one in the future.

@Tara - Good news is that we have areas to cut like gaming. I know a lot of people that don't - they are slim and trim as it is.\r \r and yes, he has some interesting options if it does happen - full time National Guard, or this other job where he would work on helis full time - 4 hour commute, but damn good money.
