Let the Games Begin!

Reggie who?  Reggie Wayne, that's who!  Reggie Bush...  pfffffft!

The NFL season started last night, and my 2nd round pick in my money league, Reggie Wayne, rolled up 115 yards and 2 TDs for me.  Combined with Dallas Clark, my team rolled up 39 pts for my first week's match-up.  W00T!

With the season beginning, I am doing my office's weekly picks pool again.  I hope I can repeat my success from last year!

This week's picks:

1.  Indy vs. Nawlins.  Pick:  Indy  Weight:  1 pt.  I expected a better game between these 2.  I expected a lot closer game, and it was up until the start of the 2nd half.

2.  Texans vs. Chiefs.  Pick:  Chiefs  Weight:  9 pts.  Chiefs' preseason was horrible.  0-4.  But, the Texans always seem to one step behind everyone, and this year doesn't look any different.  Texans' defense has never been great, and even though the Chiefs said that LJ wouldn't get as many carries, they also said that last year.

3.  Bills vs. Broncos.  Pick:  Broncos Weight:  7 pts.  Both teams have a lot of unknowns.  So many that this was a hard pick.

4.  Skins vs. Miami.  Pick:  Dolphins  Weight:  4 pts.   I'm looking for a little upset here.  I think the difference will be in the QB.  My money is on Trent Green.

5.  Packers vs. Eagles.  Pick:  Eagles  Weight:  11 pts.  Packers just don't have it anymore.  Eagles may not either.  Guess we'll see.

6.   Browns vs Steelers.  Pick:  Steelers  Weight:  16 pts.  The one sure-thing game in my opinion, though, in the NFL, there is no such thing as a sure thing.

7.  Jets vs. Patriots.  Pick:  Pats  Weight:  8 pts.  This would usually be considered another sure-thing game.  But, the Jets beat the Pats in both meetings last year.

8.  Vikes vs. Falcons  Pick:  Vikes  Weight:  14 pts.  Falcons are reeling and distracted by Ron Mexico.  Vikings a bit more solid than last year and at home.  Easy choice.

9.  Jags vs. Titans.  Pick:  Titans  Weight:  2 pts.  Looking for an upset here.  Both teams match up almost evenly, with the Titans having the edge at QB and the Jags having the edge at RB.  Should be a good game.

10.  Rams vs. Panthers.  Pick:  Rams  Weight:  15 pts.  I honestly think both teams are very solid.  RBs - both teams solid.  WRs - both teams solid.  QBs - edge to Rams.  Defense - edge to Panthers.  Home field:  Rams.  Could be a really good game.

11.  Chargers vs. Bears.  Pick:  Chargers  Weight:  12 pts.  Both teams return their cores from last year.  RBs - SD.  WRs - Bears.  QBs - Even.  Defenses - edge to the Bears.  Home field - Chargers.  Should be a really good game.

12.  Seahawks vs. The Bucs.  Pick:  Seahawks  Weight:  13 pts.  I don't think that this game will be even close.  Seattle has such a home field advantage, especially over teams from the East Coast.  I'm also looking for Shaun Alexander to have a good year this year.

13.  Raiders vs. Lions.  Pick:  Lions  Weight:  5 pts.  Going for another upset (if you can call it that).  The reason I'm going with Detroit is that they have better WRs then the Raiders.  But in honesty, both teams suck.

14.  Cowboys vs. Giants  Pick:  Giants  Weight:  6 pts.  Yet another possible upset.  I think the Giants have a better team and the Cowboy's secondary is going to be exposed as very weak.

15.   Bengals vs. Ravens  Pick:  Ravens  Weight:  10 pts.  I think the Ravens will be a very, very strong team this year.  On both sides of the ball.

16.  49ers vs. Cards.  Pick:  Cards  Weight:  3 pts.  Could be a good year for the Cards this year.  Good weapons on offense.  We'll see I guess.

How successful were you last year? Do you have a count?\r \r Vince is my boy - I hope your Titans pick is right!

Not liking your Chiefs pick. You are forgetting the Herm Edwards factor. He's a moron.

bear96 - I came in first 3 times last year (that's $100 each time, and 2nd 3-4 times (about $20 each time).\r \r I won the overall cummulative pot at the end of the year for most overall correct picks.\r \r Jmarps. Sorry, but I love Herm Edwards. He's got more to prove, but as an individual, I like him a lot.\r \r LB - picking against the Jags was hard, but I have Vince on one of my FFL teams, so I had to go with the Titans.

Nice job! Vince won me a few weeks last year, and he laid some eggs too. With all the RB drama going on, he should be a little more consistent this year with points for you.
