Great post. Its easy to sit here at home nice and safe watching what the media feeds us about the war and forget what the men and women serving our country are going through. I am willing to bet that each and evereyone wants to come home but they saddle up everyday and continue on with the mission.

And stories like this will never be seen in nationally seen media. Too gruesome and too likely to have a negative impact on anti-war/Bush propaganda.

I'm with ya jeepy. We supposedly have the most powerful military in the world, yet we cannot win this fight? why the fuck not? These fuckers have been fighting amongst themselves for years.. our small presence in their entire history is not going to change anything. \r \r I'm tellin ya, I would give the women and children 48 hours to get the hell out of dodge. @wilderz- start reading the milblogs- the independent reporters will give you the straight scoop, not the processed left wing agenda you're sucking up from the larger media outlets.\r \r It's not all doom and gloom, there is some very real progress being made. you just don't hear about it on the tv.

That is the sad part, you dont hear about the progress that is being made. You dont hear about all the medical care, the food, water, clothing, and yes, somewhat peace and stability. You will never hear abou this because it isnt sensational and the media wants what is sensational, thats what sells.

Wow, I realize that there are assholes in Iraq doing some brutul things to women and children as I'm sure is the case in every war torn country. Kill them all?? Anyone that does these types of crimes does not deserve the \"posh\" accomadations of the US military. I read the article. I don't know this person and don't have time to do the research right now but it sounds like one of those stories made up in times of war specifically to inflame us to hate the enemy. I could be wrong and before I figure it out and I will spend some time researching it out. I can understand why people would get upset at this, but lets face it, ANYONE could make something like that up and post it on an official looking page. Before I made judgements, I would want to look at this persons profile, what their motivation is, etc...I would also look at the sources their quoting.

Good idea Cap....I wish we could get a bio on the source of every news story, but we can't. \r \r Is it made up? I have no idea. But it is out there, and it isn't mainstream media. It just really irked that crap outta me....I am calmer now...lol

@Capn- quite possibly. But it sounds as though justice will be meted out in accordance with new Iraqi law. I didn't see this as a propoganda piece, but I do see how it could be perceived now. The people of Iraq have seen madness and brutality for years under the Hussein regime and I think he was just highlighting how this particular situation has similarities. If you read the last part of the article it outlines the perpetrator's possible fate. With the certainty that he will be tried in a religious based court room, he will most definitiely be made to suffer after receiving a fair trial.\r \r When the country is already polarized by religion, even shades of the same religion, this will only serve to push the general populace to a more moderate viewpoint, IMHO. Nobody wants crazy in their neghborhood, be it Baltimore or Baghdad.

I think most people understood where your comments where coming from Jeep. It's hard not to read something like that and not have an immediate gut reaction.

I think many have misinterpreted Jeep's statement as being a blanket call to kill Iraqis. I think the \"them\" were and are the scum bag a$$holes that perpetrate these atrocities. And for them, I can only say that death is too good for them.

The crimes that they commited are so horrible that they have taken part of society away forever and they should be made to give something back. Medical testing would be a great start. There are no doubt atrocities that have taken place and continue to occur. What I see here is a clash of conservative and liberal mindsets. I am not dedicated to any one party. I am dedicated to human rights and ridding the world of things like this. Source, shmorsh. This is one of many incidents that illustrate the evil this group holds in their hearts. What if it were you? What if it was your daughter? I understand the intent of your post. As far as the other monsters of the world, of any race, of any nationality - they have paid or will eventually. How soon we forget 9/11 and the thousands of innocent people killed by cowards. You think that won't happen again if we just pull out and ignore the situation? Think again.
