Jesus Fing Christ
Ok, my partner-in-crime left the company last Thursday. To reiterate, we did leasing for our entire company. Just the 2 of us. Leasing capacity for one of the largest companies in the US.
Guess who is doing it all now? Me. Well, not all of it. Just most of it. ;; Me and my partner both had a Team Lead. Ridiculous if you think about it. A Team Lead for a team of 1 person. Its not like we needed a Team Lead, both of us had been doing the job for over 5 years.
Anyways, his Team Lead gets to do orders now. ;;Well, you would think, that since they are in a position of more responsibility, etc... that they would know the job. Right? WRONG! She was brought onto our team a year ago. Guess what? She never learned how to do our job. Guess who gets to teach her now? Yup. ;; ME!
So my manager decides that since she has never learned the job, that she should get the easy orders that my partner was working on and I would get all the Expedited / Escalated orders. WTF? I already had a buttload of my own Expedited orders. Now, over half my orders are Expedited / Escalated. Guess what that means? None of them get the attention an Expedited / Escalated order deserves because I cant focus on only a couple of E&E orders, I have to cover 20 of them!
Anyways, that decision kinda ticked me off. Im from the school of "toss them em and see how they swim." I mean, she already comes down to my cube 4-5 times a day for assistance and shit. Top that off with my manager requesting my presence in their Office to explain something to her and that makes for a mind-numbing day.
Now, that generally would be enough to drive me mind-fucking insane, but no, I get to deal with dumbass provisioners in my own company. I have to basically tell them how to do their job and hold their hand through the process it seems. Some of the most inane questions come from them. i.e. - "When are we going to get "this document"?!?!?!" How Id like to answer: Read the fucking post below your post, asking this question. Holy shit! What does it say? Its dated the same day as your question! ;;It states: "Receipt of "this document" is expected by COB tomorrow."
My biggest bitch though is that we dont stick to our intervals. We have established time intervals for our orders depending on the size of the order. 45 Business Days for a "D" order and 90 business days for an "O" order. These time frames are there because these orders are projects. There can be 4-5 parties involved in 1 order, as well as 4-5 components. Its my job to project manage these components and make sure they are delivered on time and make the correct connections to the other components.
But do we follow these intervals? FUCK NO! If someone calls my management saying they need it sooner, my managemet rolls over on their backs and capitulates to them. I cant recall once, in 5 years, where my management has told someone in our company, "NO" because we need that time to make sure everything works.
So, now shit has snowballed and everyone expects their orders way faster then what our time intervals allow. We are understaffed big time, and guess who is at the bottom of the hill that the massive ball of shit is rolling down?
