Jessica Chobot causes a 'Resurgence'

I'm a big fan of... comics... Yeah, that's it.
Had the weirdest dream ever: I was a Star Wars Rebellion infantry commander, and I was tasked with defending a rebel base set in a suburban neighborhood. In the dream, I went around placing people in their outdoor defensive positions around two houses. Dennis Leary was one of them, except he was on crutches, so I placed him as the anchorman at a driveway cul de sac. Another was Sean Bean, and I ordered him to be the floater, providing support wherever the Imperial Stormtroopers appeared to be trying to break through. The two houses were connected by underground tunnels that looked like corridors in the Death Star. I remember worrying in the dream that I couldn't supervise both defensive points at the same time, so I had to keep running back and forth. We successfully repelled two enemy attacks before I woke up. What the frack does that all mean? I'm pretty sure one thing it means is that, even in my dreams, I'm a camper.

The big CoD news, of course, is the announcement of the 'Resurgence' map pack for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The DLC is scheduled to hit Xbox Live (exclusively again) on 3 June 2010, and, according to this interview of Robert 'Fourzerotwo' Bowling by Major Nelson, ''Resurgence' will follow the 'Stimulus Package' by offering three new maps and 2 recycled CoD4 maps. Of course, it will also follow the 'Stimulus Package' by costing 1200 Microsoft points. If you listen to the podcast, check out the awkward pause in the interview when they talke about the pricepoint. Neither Major Nelson nor Fourzerotwo sound very happy. Today's featured vid is an MW2 Free-for-all Tactical Nuke quest by TetraNinja. After the CoD news jump, we've got an impressive No Scope Only FFA match on Rust by ProsDONTtalkSHIT using the bolt-action Intervention. On to the CoD links:
- WePlayCoD: New Call of Duty: Black Ops details. (Thanks to WePlayCoD for the tweeted link!) The synopsis of the OXM article indicates Treyarch revealed no news about multiplayer, tho, except for the previously hinted 2-4 player co-op mode.
- FoxBusiness: Fox & Friends anchor thinks Call of Duty: Black Ops will surpass Modern Warfare 2 in sales.
- DigitalSpy: Activision registers 'Warfare' domains: Advanced Warfare, Space Warfare, Secret Warfare, and Future Warfare. The article states that each domain was registered with two sequels each!

- Kotaku: Greatest PC Games of all time according to 2010. Here's the top 10:
1. Half-Life 2
2. Fallout 3
3. EVE Online
4. Deus Ex
5. Team Fortress 2
6. Modern Warfare 2
7. Oblivion
8. Dragon Age
9. Half-Life
10. World of Warcraft
I'm really pleased 2 of my faves - Half-life and Half-life 2 - made the top 10. I guess Modern Warfare 2 deserves a spot on there in terms of sheer commercial success. But I think Call of Duty 4 was more influential in terms of gameplay innovations than MW2. But that's just me.
