I've got the Best Doctor
Even though I had to pay for the visit, my doctor and I sat down and ran through all of our prescriptions for my family. We doubled dosages (to double the length of the prescription) on those that we could, and found a few alternatives for a couple of the most expensive Meds.
Needless to say, we ended up cutting almost $2,000 off what I would have had to pay for next year:
Before

After:

I blacked out the prescriptions that are a bit more "sensitive" in the eyes of my wife.
The actual savings is even more than the $1,780. My first estimation was around $5,100. So actually we almost cut our costs in half by cutting $2,356.
I made adjustments to the original estimate by only refilling Olux, Xoponex, and Pulmicort twice for the year instead of the typical 4 times, as those we have never needed 4 refills for those 3 prescriptions.
Needless to say, this is a relief for me. I still have to add in deductibles, Chiropracter visits, regular doctor office co-pays, and a few other misc... items to the total, but it won't overwhelm me like it was.
