I should live on the East Coast...

Because August would be over.  This month is friggin' cursed.

To recap:

2. Wife came back and emptied the house.  Mostly.
4. Wife broke my heart again.  Completely.
6. Wife loaded the truck on the anniversary of my first wedding, divorce, and ex-wife's birthday.
8. Wife's mother's birthday.
10. Wife's mother passed in this month.
12. Wife's father nearly passed while she was here working on the house.
14. A buddy's mom passed yesterday.
16. Another buddy's parents were injured in a motorcycle accident.
18. ANOTHER buddy's brother was cheated on by his wife of 10 years. 
20. Yet another bro got stranded in the Denver airport while trying to get home to his family.
22. My car was totalled this month.
24. And on the last day of the month, an accursed robotic welder nearly ensured my working this weekend.  Thank goodness Canada has Labor Day holidays as well. (Canadian product)

I'm telling you, the only thing that went without flaw (for me) was the ChiLan.  Even watching Waterborn blow OJ out his nose less than 15 feet behind ChiTown PD was perfect.

Here's what we've got for September, in no particular order:

• Fix said nightmare welder.
• Insure my new car and get paid for the old one.
• School starts Tuesday.
• Keep talking to the wife.
• Keep working on my relationship with my son.
• Staying sober.
• Get to play Halo 3.  four player co-op ftw!
• Get plans together for Christmas holidays
• Work on organizing my house.
• Get OUR artwork framed and hung.
• Enjoy the weather finally cooling off.
• Enjoy the company of my friends, XBL and RL.
• Get plans for bunker for next August.  I'm only coming out for ChiLan!

And count the blessings that I take for granted.  I could be getting shot at or bombed.  We could be hungry.  We may not be completely happy, but we are safe and sound.
