Using a test with a sensitivity of 96.5% and specificity of 95%.

Crap, I have to hand this in tomorrow and I am giving a talk to some Rotary club.

Would you Rather
After being shipwrecked in the middle of the ocean and waiting to be rescued, see land the whole time, but know its 10 miles away
OR
Not be able to see land but still know, somehow, that it is 5 miles away?

Either or. It wouldn't make a difference, as I would swim towards it one way or another.

see the land...i then have a direction and a visible goal. even if the land i can't see is 5 miles away, there is a greater chance i'll travel more than 10 miles just trying to find it.
