The video game industry is a very diverse place, there are a bunch of jobs, but most of em require people to relocate since you have to work in the offices where they are statined, but there are a few jobs that allow you to stay home and work.
You can be anywhere in the globe and still be able to do this job, the only thing required is your game console and inthernet, but you have to get hired first, but once one has achived bieng hired, the rest is a piece of cake, but gaming isnt the only thing you do all day, it might be a large part , but there are other tasks, your going have to write alot too.
they have to constantly check their email a bunch every day, this is becuase that is the only mean of communication developers and programmers have when they try to contact the testers, If they dont read their emal most likely they will miss an important letter, they will miss special announcements or changes to the deadline, communication is a very vital part of being a Video game tester or anyother work at home job
This job can get boring and tedious, they dont play with a mentality of a regular gamer, they play in a fixed course always checking everything, every item, dialog, sound, over and over again, this means playing the game several times, reapeting scenerios time after time, thats why getting caught up in the game is bad, you can lose track, miss any bugs or glitches they would of either caught if they were paying attention, and miss theor deadline,
Finally, since you're working from home, you may find yourself distracted by television, house work, or the telephone. If you let yourself become too distracted, you may not meet your testing deadline. This is also something that can easily get a tester fired. Remember that even though you're at home, you're still working, and you need to keep yourself focused on your testing when you're working.
Since you are working at home, they can and will get distracted, from the phone, wife, kids, or anything alse that will deter them from completing their goal, if they do meet the deadline. they can kiss their job goodbye, and never be contacted by that employeer again for future contracts, its a job like anythere and you should treat it like one.
