Here I Sit, at a Loss...
...trying to... oops. Not that one. Sorry.
Feeling a little high right now (I'll explain that in a bit).
The kid is finally over her flu we think, as well as my wife. Unfortunately, instead of the kidney infection that we thought she had, she is actually going through a "Fibro-Flare."
WTF is a Fibro-flare you ask?
Well, my wife has Fibromyalgia. That, along with a host of other Endocrine system diseases makes her life pretty miserable for the most part.
Fibromyalgia - A syndrome characterized by chronic pain in the muscles and soft tissues surrounding joints, fatigue, and tenderness at specific sites in the body. Also called fibromyalgia syndrome.
Accompaning this excellent disease (sarcasm) is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and the inability to get a decent sleep, as she has problems acheiving REM. This is called "the alpha-EEG anomaly". I call it daily PMS. (Kinda kidding on that. But since she doesn't get a good rest, she's a pain to deal with in the morning.)
She also has Psoriasis, Hypoglycemia, and Hypothyroidism. All these special diseases are all linked to her Endocrine system (to an extent I beleive) and when her Fibromyalgia decides it's time to flare, they go ape-shit and a good time is had by all. Not.
Anyways, life should be back to normal, or at least what is considered normal for us by tomorrow.
Since I had to stay home from the LAN and make sure my family was ok, I took the time to continue my home improvements that I have been making and documenting in this blog.
Work completed so far: Living room painted, laminate flooring in living room, floorboards in living room, family room painted, kitchen painted.
All of this is leading up to new carpet being installed in the family room. However, I had one major task yet to complete before that could happen.
New linoleum in the Kitchen.
So guess what I have been doing the last day and a half? Yup, scraping up the adhesive from the old linoleum that I pulled up. I would estimate that I spent well over 8 hours yesterday and 6 hours today doing this. Then I had to mix up some flooring compound to fill in the holes in the concrete that were created when I pulled up the carpet and the tack boards for the carpet.
So that's where I'm at with that. Tomorrow (or today I guess) I will sweep, vacuum, and mop the concrete thoroughly, and then apply a coat of concrete primer to the area where I will be putting down the new linoleum tiles. After it has been given 2 hours to dry, I will then proceed to install the new tiles. Joy!
So that brings us to one of my first sentences. Feeling a little high right now. I spent upwards 12-14 hours on my ass, knees, and hands scraping that adhesive off the concrete. I'm one sore motherf----r.
I know what is coming tomorrow morning. One of my hands has not stopped tingling for the last 4 hours. I went through this when I worked in similar positions with my floorboards.
I'm going to hurt. A. Lot.
So, I'm doing a premptive strike tonight.
Drug Cocktail. Done it before. 1 Vicodin and 1 Muscle relaxor.
So I'm feeling a bit drowsy, and a bit happy. Starting to stiffen up, and hear my bed a callin.
I apologize for not posting my usual afternoon content, as I had half a day off on Friday and was busy watching my wife and kid feel sick and then scraping the floor when they slept.
But, I have a ton of content on the back burner, and I hope you all enjoy what I post. I plan on adding more "personal" stories into the mix just give the blog some flavor and let people know who I am.
This is a real commercial! Hard to beleive, but it is!

Of Course someone has to make their own parody of it.
