Please send positive thoughts/prayers our way for our puppy Obi.  He had not been eating for the last 3 days, and was throwing up every few hours, we took him to the Vet, and come to find out he has Parvo, probably contracted it from the former occupants of our new house and their dog.  Were already $500 in and they just started treatment.  He is an awesome puppy, one of the smartest I have ever had, and it would absolutely kill Durty, and the kids if we were to lose him.  Hopefully he will take to the treatments of antibiotics, and fluids, so he can come home in 3 days and recuperate, we cant afford anymore than that.  And if this doesn't fix  him, then were pretty screwed, so lets try the power of prayer/positive thoughts for a speedy and full recovery.

Thank you

Chris

Parvo is nasty but dogs recover from it all the time. Good luck man, hope the pup gets feeling better.

I don't even know what that is, or how you contract it, or how you get rid of it...\r \r but, I hope you're puppy is ok soon!!

Thanks guys.\r \r The vet figures he caught it from the feces of the dog that lived here before we moved in. Incubation period is 2-3 weeks, about how long we've lived here. If a dog even sniffs the feces of a dog who was infected, he can contract the virus. Parvo basically attacks the intestines, heart and white blood cells of dogs...treatment is kind of like the flu for humans...they can treat the symptoms, but not the virus...it's up to Obi's body to fight it off. Hopefully he's strong enough to fight it off...I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't pull through.

That's great news about him not throwing up anymore. I hope the worst is behind him. I'll be keeping him in my thoughts.
