Headline: 9-Year Old Runs 1 Mile and Lives to Tell About It
My oldest son ran in a fun track race at his school yesterday. He wasn't sure about it, but I talked him into it. So we trained for a couple of weeks, going on jogs together. And yesterday he ran 1 mile. I'm pretty proud of him.

Here he comes:
And he was still able to smile :)
He didn't finish at the front of the race, or anywhere near it actually. But he listened to me. He never stopped running, even when some other kids walked. So he didn't have the speed but he DID have the willpower, and that's the part I'm happy about.
My wife asked him if he wants to do it again next year. He said yes, so it seems he had a positive experience. I'm glad about that, too!
